When might I consider life insurance?

Many people look at life insurance after a major life event, such as having a child or buying a home. If a partner or children depend on you financially, life insurance can help pay the mortgage, rent or other bills if you die.

Do I need home insurance or landlord insurance?

Home insurance isn't a legal requirement, although a mortgage lender may require buildings cover. If you let a property to tenants, standard home insurance usually isn't designed for the risks landlords face, so landlord insurance is the usual choice.

What's the difference between buildings and contents insurance?

Buildings insurance covers the structure of your home, such as walls, roof and floors, and can include outbuildings like garages and fences. Contents insurance covers the things inside, such as furniture, clothes and personal belongings.

What is motor finance?
